Highlights
The tour starts at the Syntagma metro station for a brief look at the ancient artifacts displayed at the metro’s museum. You’ll also see the Greek Parliament, the Monument of the Unknown Soldier, and watch the Changing of the Guards. Next, your guide will walk you through the National Gardens, Zappeion Hall and Hadrian’s Arch. From there you’ll walk towards the Acropolis on the beautiful pedestrian walkway called Dionysiou Areopagitou. Entering on the south slope of the Acropolis, you’ll visit the Dionysus Sanctuary and Dionysus Theater before you walk up the slope leading to the Acropolis monuments. Panoramic views of the city will be perfect for Instagram-ready photos. During your tour, you’ll gain insight into the significance of its historic monuments including the Parthenon, the Erechtheion, the Propylaia, the Nike Temple and other significant sights including the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the Ancient Agora, the National Observatory of Athens and the city’s scenic hills: Filoppapos, Mars, and Pnyx. You proceed with the visit of Acropolis museum, designed by renowned Swiss architect Bernard Tschumi and notable Greek architect Michalis Photiadis, the Acropolis Museum captivates guests on approach. Its seamless modern lines elegantly incorporate artifacts exclusively from the Acropolis, and excavations are also visible under glass floors and walkways. On this tour you will discover all the different aspects of the island and have first hand understanding of what to do in Mykonos; where to go swimming, what is the best place to party and have fun, how the locals live and where you will do all your shopping.
It is specifically organized in the evening hours so we can avoid the hot temperatures during the afternoon!! You will start off visiting some of the famous beaches around the island. You will continue on by visiting Ano Mera the only local settlement for the permanent islanders which is in the centre of the island where we have a peek of its main square and next to it we also have the opportunity to admire the old monastery dating back to the 16th century AC with its miraculous icon of Panagia Tourliani (entrance fee is included to the price). Next stop is at the famous Paradise beach with all the beach bars lining up to the sea front, Cavo Paradiso one of the largest and most exciting clubs to party in the whole Europe as well as Jaipur the only Indian restaurant on the island (a shot drink is included to the price to a beach bar). You will make one last stop above and before Chora at a unique panoramic spot for breathtaking views of the city below to take pictures of its windmills, the old harbour, the high dense built area with the small houses, the balconies, the white washed churches and the people flooding its small winding streets.
Last but not least you take an hour around sunset time to visit all the landmarks of Chora: the old port, the all white Paraportiani church, the Little Venice area, the windmills, the busy, narrow streets that are designed like a maze and are full of brand name as well as many souvenir stores. We finish, having seen all the high lights concerning Mykonos, taken loads of pictures, had new friends and created memories for a lifetime!
An amazing experience is about to start!! Combining 4000 years of history, fun, flavors and hidden treasures!!! You will meet your local professional English speaking escort at 09:00 and you will start you tour at the highest spot of the island, Prophetis Elian mountain for panoramic photos. You will be guided at the wine making process as they used to make it many years ago, the original – not commercial – way. You will step on an ancient vineyard and get interesting info for the special “terroir” of Santorini which is giving the very famous white wines of the island. It is now almost 13:00, time to have a stop for relax (free time for swimming) and a meze style lunch. Variety of local tapas (meze) the majority made from local products such as fava, cherry tomato, round zucchinis, white eggplants and more. Comfort food meze style lunch from Santorini assorted by a fine glass of Santorini wine from one of the most famous winemakers of the island of the nowadays. After your “meze experience” you will be driven you back to your hotel.
The famous Sunset Cruise begins at Vlychada port, by sailing along the unique Red and White Beach during which you will have the chance to take spectacular photos. Next will head to the Hot Springs at the Volcano,where will stop for swimming and snorkeling. While enjoying the sailing experience will pass through the Old Port of Fira and will travel along the magnificent route of the coastline. After being picked up from your accommodation you will reach Rifugio Sapienza by car and stop in some panoramic points on the way up. The guide will tell you everything about the history of the volcano and the territory around. You will have the chance to visit the sites of the last important activities and the famous Silvestri Craters.
From Rifugio Sapienza (1920 m asl) you can choose between:
